I've been having this countdown as status in my instant messenger accounts and a lot of my contacts have been asking me about it. I either answer them with 'secret' - to avoid lots of explaining haha or 'I'm going to Singapore.'

Yes, I'm leaving for Singapore on the 27th. I have already tendered my resignation to my current employer to become an OFW (naks). Two years ago, I was firm in telling a lot of people that I do not like the idea of working in another country; that I will never leave the Philippines for work. I'm the type of person who easily longs for things or people that I'm far from (that includes not only my family and friends, but also my cabinet, bed and clothes). I don't think I'm ready for US or Europe job opportunities but this one is just right for me. Singapore is just a 3-hour plane ride away from home.

I had the chance to visit Singapore last year. I have been to other Asian countries and I must say that I was most impressed with the Land of the Merlion. A lot of my friends have left the country to try their luck there. My bestfriend, Jen, used to live there and I guess she was one of the reasons why I have convinced myself that I want to work there. The contract that I signed is not over the top but it's enough to make me decide to go. I'm excited, scared, happy, sad and anxious all at the same time (o di ba kaloka haha).

I'll surely miss a lot of people and things here in the Philippines (except for gas and bigas prices). Please do a couple of things for me: pray for me and stay online :D (bawal manakot dahil takot na haha)
