People don't just tickle to elicit laughter, some use the act as a form of torture. The type of criminal punishment was first used by the Roman Empire calling the method "Goat's tongue." The method was also said to be used in Ancient China. "Chinese tickle torture" as they call it, refers to the act of tying a victim and excessively tickling him therefore making him subject to extreme pain.
